NACOPAJAZ RECORDS is an independant label based both in Paris and South-West of France. Created and managed by Olivier Durand (aka Olo) who was in another life, Head PR for different majors labels like Island Records, Barclay-Universal, Source-Virgin, Geffen-MCA. But he choosed to drive his own way trying to bring quality music, true artists and new directions through a natural record label made of stone.
Nacopajaz started releasing productions in 2003 with the abstract-jazz of Canvas, moving to the electronica-breakbeat sounds of Del Wire, who gave birth to the solo career Fedaden bringing a talented melodic and deepful electronica. By releasing MAI's debut album, Nacopajaz opens the way to a pop division with the soft-pop music of a graceful swedish singer, Johanna Wedin. We also work on discovering cutting edge artists from all over the world starting with Brazil. From Sao Paulo we brought back Hurtmold's post-rock jazz.
In South Brazil we've been seduced by the inspired tropicalist pop-folk music of the Darma Lovers. In the same way, we offer a panorama of the twisted alternative Sao Paulo scene by delivering an exciting compilation, Satanic Samba. Nacopajaz will follow its effort with the release of Lucy and the Popsonics, a great electro-punk band from Brasilia, an extra proof of the contemporary angry Brazil. Step by step, we build a solid identity by cultivating a curiousity that makes us unpredictible and incorruptible. Welcome to our world. NCJ
