Sly Asher

Sly began his career in Abidjan, (AFRICA) as a bassist. He became a rastaman joining the Ethiopian World Federation in Accra and started his tour all over west Africa (Ghana, Togo, Nigeria, South Africa …).

Sly studies the Bible, plays music for living, creates and writes. He handles his own arrangements as well as his studio and stage life. He produces an incredible amount of lyrics and orchestrations. He will conceive "PRIONS" (Lets Pray) in Kampsite studio with Sam Rootanabo.The LP is issued by Alpha Blondy distribution in Ivory Coast. Sly and United Vibes will be guests in the AFROMUSIQUES Rita Marley is the godmother and "FESTA" in Grand Bassam. The artist plays with Steel Pulse, I Jahman Levy, Ky Mani Marley … He toured with Don Carlos through Ghana and will play every friday night in “le Balafon” inviting many wellknown artists like Tiken Jah Fakoly, Alpha Blondy, Meimay...
He joins Europe and brings together "the Rooters". They toured in France, Italy, Slovenia, Hungary.

They gave concerts in Socca Reggae Riversplash, U Zona Reggae Festival, Finos Reggae Festival in Spain. Played in Barcelona, Paris and had great succes. He produced a 4 titles CD including a new version of "Prions”, the LP is played on radios in France, Spain, Belgium and Switzeland. Sly ASHER spreads the message of Jah for many years now around Africa. His compositions refer to the bible, the teaching of Jah Ras Tafari and denounce with no fear inequality, injustice and "politricks".. Sly sings in English, French and bété (his roots tong) On stage you will discover 25 of his songs in the pure "roots-rock reggae" style,including the hits "Prions", Irie and Jah disciple.
