SKNDR

Artist

Skander Besbes, aka SKNDR, is a wandering musician with a manysided identity, who has become one of the major Tunisian electronica producers. Travelling around, he has developed an ever evolving style of his own, which finds its expression in various forms and media, such as CDs, concerts, films or exhibitions. Growing up in Tunisia, he soons becomes part of the underground rock stage, where he successively plays the guitar or drums in several groups. He is however caught in the electro wave storming across Europe and in the mid-1990s he discovers Future Sound of London, Prodigy and Laurent Garnier.

This is when he begins exploring all the musical possibilities offered by computerized systems - a discovery that promptly opens up on his own first electronic compositions. Since 2005, Skander has been increasingly collaborating with musicians from all over the world: Justin Adams (Robert Plant), Clive Deamer (Portishead, Roni Size), Leo taylor (Matthew Herbert, Zongamin), Julien Aku-fen Oresta (High Tone) Mounir Troudi (Eric Truffaz)... and has acquired a steady experience of live shows by appearing on stage both in small clubs and in big festivals, either on his own or in bands, whether in Morocco, Egypt, France or England.
