Born in 1977, Sébastien Roux gets the music started as a guitarist among various rock bands before wildly starting a carreer as an electronic music composer : records (in solo or in collaboration with Greg Davis, Vincent Epplay, Eddie Ladoire), acoustic improvisation concerts (with Kim Myhr, David Fenech), sound and vision performances, music pieces for dance (currently collaborating with young choreographer Marinette Dozeville and also signed the soundtrack to Lionel Hoche's recent Pan), radiophonic art (in 2005, he wins the La Muse en Circuit radio art contest), cine-concerts (for Nanouk l’Esquimau at Fondation Cartier with Vincent Epplay), sound installations (the series called Wallpaper Music with its next incarnation during festival FriArt in Fribourg as well as Précisions sur les Vagues, installation in collaboration with Célia Houdart and Olivier Vadrot, presented during festival d’Avignon 2008).
In parallel, Sébastien Roux works at Ircam as an assistant for composer Georges Aperghis for the pieces Avis de Tempête, Happy End and Dans le Mur. He presented his work in Europe, North America and Australia. He was invited to several festivals like Archipel (Genève), Musique Action (Nancy), Nuit d’hiver (Marseille), Netmage (Bologne), WhyNote (Dijon), Présences Electroniques (Radio France), J’en Rêve (Fondation Cartier), Musica (Strasbourg), Net Days (Bruxelles), Santarcangelo (Italie), Akousma (Montréal), BEAF (Bellingham Electronic Arts Festival, Etats-Unis)...
His works are documented by labels Brocoli, Apestaartje, 12k, Carpark, Room40, n-rec, Optical Sound Tiramizu and Tsuku Boshi. He is a residential composer at La Muse En Circuit in 2009 andf, for the 2009-2010 season, at the centre national de création musicale Césaré (Reims).
This same year will also see him work at a suite of Songs (album released by 12k in 2006), ordered by the GRM which will be created in 2010.
