Myrkur

Rik Kooyman, aka Myrkur, started his Dj carreer in January 2008, after receiving positive feedback from the Dutch dubstep community for his track ëEntanglementí. Since then he has played many of Hollandís best dubstep parties (Sonic Warfare, Dubstance, Dubstep AGoGo) and also runs his own night, Radical, in Amsterdamís OT301. He also hosts his own 2 hour radio show weekly on Sub FM (Radical Radio Show) and is at the center of the dutch dubstep movement.

Myrkur has been heavily influenced by genres such as IDM, Post-Rock, Breakcore, Ambient and music from artists like Radiohead, Sigur RÛs and Helios. The name Myrkur stands for ëdarknessí in Icelandic and has been taken from a songtitle by Sigur RÛs.
