After Sao-Paulo, one of the most brazilian exciting musical scene of the moment already approached with the releases of Hurtmold and Satanic Samba's compilation, then came Porto Alegre with the amazing aerian tracks of the Darma Lovers, lets go to Brasilia, the cult-city built by Oscar Niemeyer and Lucio Costa to discover LUCY AND THE POPSONICS.
That duo, also in a relationship for years, joined together with a bass, electric guitar and a laptop, had probably produced the most fun, Fresh and exciting album from the Lula's country.

"A Fábula (ou a Farsa?) de Dois Eletropandas" ‘ s album released on Monstro Discos (one of the most important independent Brazilian label) has been rated as one of the best promising act of the new Brazilian scene by the media. Folha de Sao Paulo, Vogue, Rolling Stone, MTV have been immediately seduced by the Electro-punk music of that sexy duo of Brasilia offering at the same time the possibillity for the band to tour in the big festivals.
They met at kindergarten, shared delicious sweets and a weird taste for non sense. Later on, they became a cute-mid-height couple with great musical and aesthetic affinity. They tried some bad succeeded rides through rock and then decided to exterminate drummer players at their group. All of a sudden, something pretty extraordinary happened: they received super powers from an electronic drum kit, Lucy, and became Popsonics.
Followed by that, in a very strange experience at the backyard of the studio, it happened an exotic visit from other space genre, also a couple, Eletropandas. This couple got Fernanda and Pil Popsonic contaminated by a never seen fable, in which pleasure is the top command, pose and feelgood aspects of life are the destiny. They don't know so far whether it's a dream or a real fable. Would it be a farse? The effects of this meeting between Popsonics and Eletropandas resulted in "A Fábula (ou a Farsa?) de Dois Eletropandas" [The Fable (or the Farse?) of Two Electropandas], Lucy and The Popsonics' debut album.
Produced by Zepedro (also musician in a very good band from Brasilia, Superquadra) and Raphael Faret, They made that mix of nervous rock striked of major chords, with a linear but powerful bass on an Electro-pop base coming back to the roots (Kraftwerk, Devo). This album, leaded by the spontaneous Young and mischievous Fernanda, offers in 40 minutes, an accelerated drive in the complex avenues of the UFO-City. In 2007 and 2008, LUCY AND THE POPSONICS played a lot in Brazil and worldwide with artists like Devo, Lilly Allen, The Rapture, Tokyo Police Club, CSS, Datarock, Diplo, Potion et Kasabian. They also been touring in the USA (South By Southwest), Middle-West and East Coast (Knitting Factory/NYC), then in Europe, with very good feedback of the audience in Germany, Spain, France (I.D.E.A.L Festival) and Portugal (Fade In Festival).

Picked out in 2008 by Nacopajaz, and recently seen at PopMontréal Festival where they really impressed, they've been considered by the influential VOIR magazine like one of the revelation of the festival, LUCY AND THE POPSONICS is coming soon , they got no fear ! cos Brazil rocks !!
