Biography

The son of an opera singer and a pianist, Claude Nougaro bath from his earliest childhood in a musical variety, composed of both Rossini and Bizet as Charles Trenet and Edith Piaf. Student mediocre, he embarked in journalism and in writing texts, which will quickly become songs. He meets Brassens, and Mouloudji Audiberti, who became his spiritual father. In 1959, Nougaro recorded his first 33 laps and went on tour for the first part of Dalida. He met success in 1962 with 'A little girl' and confirmed with his ode to his recently born daughter, 'Cecile, my daughter'. Between 1964 and 1984, he discovered Africa, Brazil and the United States who inspire many successes ( 'Slum', 'Nougayork') and provide him recognition from his peers and favors a wider audience . We see the great Parisian scenes: the Olympia, the Zénith, the Palais des Congrès ...

In 2000, he wants to return to its traditional roots and seeks the help of Yvan Cassar. Born of this combination the album "All aboard" and a tour when accompanied by eight musicians, he proves once again that he is a singer at the top of French music.
Always against the tide, he prepares a show where he finds himself alone on stage to say his lyrics: "Fables de ma fontaine"
After this adventure, he learns his illness and never stop working he composed and recorded in part "The Blue Note"
Nougaro dies at age 74, March 4, 2004.
The eternal troubadour leaves orphan city and a country in shock. Man full of wit, humor and heart, infused with jazz, java, rock and world music, poetry and art are eternal explosion of words and love.
