Biography

"In Finnish “ääni” means both "voice" and "sound". The context then determines the meaning of the word. The plural form of this rich noun is “äänet” : voices, sounds. The choice of this name is emblematic of the enounter with Jari Hongisto, Rémi Charmasson, Stephan Oliva and Claude Tchamitchian who all touch the essence of music through their immediate communion with our flamboyant trombonist : voices and sounds beutifully merge and answer one another in an irresistible organic movement. As guest of the Charmasson/Oliva/Tchamitchian trio, Jari becomes the catalyst of a quartet that was simply meant to be for anyone listening to this “Aquarian Forest”."
