Young At Heart

It is funny how sometimes you can think yourself so non-objective. Then you quickly remember that it is anyway the purpose of such article, blog, passion. The two fellows of Twin Pricks have escaped from Dead for a minute (you'll be hearing of those soon, too), Meny Hellkin more recently, and are signed by Chez Kito Kat. This record means for Dead for a Minute what Pennac means for Debord. The feeling of bewilderment that has you travelling without telling you exactly why. Flo and Geo may also have felt that same flame and verve when composing the 5 tracks of this EP. A kind of regression as tribute. Twin Pricks is merely an adult whim, full of humility. Don't talk to me about the Get up Kids (back this year, sic!), but instead scream the name of Jonah Matranga, who will always have had authenticity as pure guideline.
You'll get your treat here from beginning to end with this teenage pop naivety, sugary lyrics, melodies and rhythms and the sweet arrangements. Like wandering through a 90s pop heritage, humble pop music, singing something that revives the lost things inside every one of us (Lily by The Smashing Pumpkins). The vocals take turns, always on the edge. The production is clear, recalling the home studio of Elliot Smith (Twin Freaks) to end with a long touching memory lane track you cannot get tired of. Thank you.
