"Les rives du fleuve" (The banks of the river) recall in the finest manner the richness of the musical influences at work in the pieces of guitarist Engé. A swinging gypsy touch, Brazilian influences and remarked incursions in the Central Europe tzigane repertoire are felt here in a warm sounding stylistic unity. The colours of Engé's compositions unfold like tableaux from the most original itinerary open to sentiments. Guitars and violin, accordion and cymbalum dialogue in Django Reinhardt's dearest language and support the vocals with the nicest of complicity. Between tradition and modernity, they offer us an eclectic journey, charming the public with their melancholic tenderness, their sunlit rage and their power to travel on the roads of the heart...
