Network 23 : an open band of « electronic » musicians, geographically scattered but narrowly bound, whether nomad or sedentary, united to change forever the methods of broadcasting so-called underground music. Network 23 worked this way : music was produced collectively in a secret mobile recording studio, also made available for the initiation and perfectionning of all those met on the road. The tracks thus produced were then tested on the Spiral Tribe sound system at parties where the public was invited to freely participate, most of the time in an unknown town between France and Ukraine. Once the productions were judged satisfying by all, the only criteria being to have the crowd dancing, records and flat-caps where made as close as possible to the mobile base then transported, circularly, everywhere in Europe in a military tank including at the least a driver, a seller and a hypnotic loops shaman, all able to play live or to dj if the opportunity was there. Thus were visited specialised record sellers, commercial festival car parks, free parties, squat parties,... new collaborations emerging here and there at stops in bases of the network like in Berlin, Paris, Den Haag,... slowly, a new way to live on music was established, aside a system already in place, by meeting the public directly everywhere in Europe... More than a hundred of LP - with a maximum running of 1,000 copies - were spread out this way, uniting Crystal Distortion, Ixindamix, 69db, Kaos, Unit Moebius, Prangsta, Dj Tal, Meltdown Mickey, Daz, Lsdub, R-Zac and many more.
