Grigri Breakers

WARNING ! COLLECTOR EDITION The Grigri Breakers album is presented in a limited edition (500 copies) EP + CD album 17 tracks contained in a beautiful gatefold front cover made by Ugo Cabella. A second 3 tracks EP (Grigri Breakers Vol.2) will be released in June 2009.

Loan's first album includes 5 tracks featuring MC's from the Dakar (Senegal) hip hop scene, but also collaborations with artists from the electronic music scene.

Through chance meetings and travels she has built a hybrid and high demanding sound. Her music is composed of fiercely subtle breaks and dubstep colored deep bass, along with influences of wild break beats and deviant hip hop. The highpoint of Loan's approach set during the recording of 5 tracks in Dakar (Senegal) between 2003 and 2004 with amazing tracks out of the best of the local hip hop scene: Da brains, Taf'Taf (Noni None), Black G (Raktaksquad), Tafa (Sikki Sakka) but also Nono's singular voice.

A few artists from the French electronic music favourites have also take part of the album: Rimshot (interlope), Pushy!, Monsieur Greg et Nice. The artistic direction has been handled by Dominique "Dume" Poutet (DTC, Abraxxxas, Laurent de Wilde...)

So many experiences and true stories condensed on this record reveal the uncompromising musical world of an artist who holds a strong human feeling and a greed for thrilling musical experiences.
