Coming from Hendaye, on the French-Spanish border crossing the Basque country, Skunk probably owe this peculiar geographic location, at the crossroads of 3 cultures, their skill to jump from style to another and their immoderate taste for touring which led them through 3 continents and more than 15 countries, with 600 concerts performed alongside Lee Perry, Fishbone, Voodoo Glow Skulls, Skatalites, Parabellum, Sergent Garcia, Goran Bregovitch, Negu Gorriak or LKJ... Auto-managed, the band created their own label Skunk Diskak, multiplied exchanges (tour organisation, distribution, compilations...) and remains a pillar of the alternative circuit of the region. 12 years of frenetic musical activism and moving line-ups illustrated by 5 albums (*) and participations to more than 45 compilations (!), saw our jumping Basque fellows evolve from "reggaemartxaska" to the current hybrid sound of their new album.
"Giltzak / Les clefs" juxtaposes tense vigorous and brassy rock with escapes to the folklores of the world, following the opening started on "Kinki". 11 track of pure energy with a leaflet including the lyrics translations in 4 languages, a live MPEG video bonus (@ Toulouse Havana Café), that gives a pre-taste of their forthcoming DVD... Fans will be delighted with the first release wave wil also include a bonus live 6-tacks CD !!!
