Freaks Show e.p.

Though the name of Redux is only known from 2007in the electro scene, Nikko, the man behind the name, was not born then but had already produced some 20 or so EPs in a more up-tempo register, with sound system Karbon 14.
Come to maturity, he only speeds up the pace to make the crowds go wild and turns to the less frenetic tempo of electro-house and cross-over of genres which is Breakbeat.

Quickly, he signs a first EP on American label Portamento but it is 2008 that sees him lay the grounds of a more personal style with track « Diskobreaks », hyper-excited analogue bass lines supported by a solid rhythm, topped by samples and breaks spanning from hip-hop to funk via disco. The track gets great critical acclaim on compilation « Spicy cunt » by label Level75 and the support of many artists (Erol alkan, Ursula 1000, Popof, Ascii Disco, The Toxic Avenger, The Driver, DJ Pone,…). The track is also released in vinyl on Katorza, label which he founded alongside Maelstrom, and gets playlisted outside of France by DJs like Crookers, Rico Tubbs, Aquasky, Malente, Cut la Roc, or Lee Mortimer.

Besides several remixes, still on Katorza, and 7 original tracks on PlasmaDigital, Miles Dyson's label, Redux takes part in the project « Sweatlodge », genuine electro circus combining ‘‘Rave’’ and performance duroing gigantic evenings under the big top. For this event, he composes tracks « Cirkalia » and « Bassline Circus » which borrow from circus and eastern fanfares the festive and melancholic aspect to boost them up with kicks and massive bass lines. These are feature today along with dancefloor jewel « Bouncing Pigs », on « Freaks Show », first EP on Expressillon… enjoy !
