Mandala Quartet are back here with a new piece of work, new tracks and a new musician. Matias Marcipar, currently dealing with new projects in Argentina, having left his seat to Aurélien Petit.
The result is a new sound, a new approach, always delicate, just like the repertoire of Mandala Quartet. Aurélien Petit even offers us a beautiful composition "Pont-à-Mousson".
This new EP allows us to simply discover the evolution of the universe of Mandala Quartet.

Mandala is an acoustic formation composed of a wood instrument, two brass instruments and one percussionist.
It all started with a journey : in August 2003 Lionel Rivière leaves with his tuben for Southern America. Then, his brass luggage collided with the traditional luggage of Matias Marcipar. A residential work session ensued with a dance troupe around research and improvisation.
Enriched with this experience and itinerary, the crew finds its definitive shape with the joining of Felix Foucart and Julien on tuba and starts approaching world music and dance : Latin America, Yiddish, European folklore. The band was born. After one year's work on the completion of a repertoire comes a new step : creations and, on the ground of popular music, everyone's composition give space to improvisation.
