If you've learn about last year's Jarring Effects «Capetown Beats» compilation release, and recent release of Playdoe's first EP, you definitely must have heard of Ben Sharpa.Ben's track «Into the Black» was a hit in the indie and underground music community. Lots of indie radios broadcasted it until it was playlisted by the famous dj and uk bass music queen mary Anne hobbs.While Ben was already working with the musicians who created beats for this release, it was time for a big highlight in Europe.At this point, the Jarring Effects crew already growns a rock solid interest for this incredibly gifted mC. And a few monthes later, the crew decided to release a LP with selected tracks in order to get Ben introduced to french and european audiences and DJs. After his first vinyl version, released in november 2008, Jarring Effect s keep on supporting Ben, with an upcoming album, called B.Sharpa, in november, 6th 2009. Beats have been crafted by super talented producers such as Sibot (Playdoe, Real Estate Agents...), D-Planet (who's also Pioneer unit's Boss) and super-evil-bass milanese (planet-mu, warp). We really think Ben Sharpa is by far one of the greatest mC of our time. This release comes out at a time we all want to see bridges being build between musical genres, and Ben could be the missing link between uS hip-hop ala Def Jux and the boiling hot uK Grime scene.
