9: Solfatares

"9 : solfatares" is the meeting point between fire and ice, ash and mud. This record is peopled with ghosts of German painter Max Beckmann who fled the Nazi regime to die, exiled, in New York, of Russian damned poet Maïakovski, who shot his own heart at the age of 37, or of Bukka White, black soul of the Memphis blues who wrote his most powerful songs behind the bars of the Parchman penitential facility. Torso defines his music as standing between Joy Division's cold wave, Programme's spoken word and The Cure's Pornography's Fender Jazz Master guitars, Pornography de Cure, with themes throbbing like telluric tremors and words engraved like a shiver on the skin, on supple and reptilian rhythms above which surface electronic outcrops.
